Commuters in Dublin are being warned that there may be delays following a crash on the M50.

The crash on the M50 southbound took place at roughly 7.40am between Junction 6, Blanchardstown, and Junction 7, Lucan.

The right hand lane is currently affected though the crash has since been cleared.

Roadworks may also impact traffic today as works on the Royal Canal Greenway gets under way, there are currently works taking place at Binns Bridge, Dorset Street Lower and Whitworth Road and will take approximately two weeks to complete.

The inbound traffic lane nearest the median will be closed for the entire period.

Other routes approaching Dublin experiencing delays include the M1 southbound, the M2 southbound, the M3 southbound, the M4 eastbound and the M7 eastbound.

There are also delays on the M50 between Junction 5 and Junction 9.
